The Hainan exhibition area in the D3 Professional Hall features an eye-catching orchard agricultural robot that resembles a bumblebee. “It can do the work of ten people every day!” Gong Zhen, exhibitor and GM of the Tingjie Agricultural Robot (Hainan) Company said that the robot ‘s special features included being “intelligent, independent, green, and digital.”
Gong went on to say that after seven years of improvements and updates, the company holds 15 patents for the orchard robot, including three invention patents. The agricultural robot is already hard at work in many parts of Hainan. “We hope that here at the China-ASEAN Expo, we can begin working with Southeast Asian companies in the agricultural development field.”
In the B2 Comprehensive Hall, the “Wukong” unmanned submersible on display at the Nanhai Institute of Harbin Engineering University is attracting quite a bit of attention and photos. (Translator’s note: Wukong is the name of the iconic character of the Monkey King in the Journey to the West.) Wei Tianjiao, director of the Nanhai Innovation & Development Center of Harbin Engineering University, explained that the display features a 1:1 scale model of the Wukong, which was transported by truck from Sanya to Nanning.

As a complete deep-sea unmanned submersible, the “Wukong” has dived several times to the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest location on the planet, playing an important role in seafloor exploration, underwater rescue, deep sea salvage, and marine scientific research.
The Hainan exhibition area contains displays from a total of 56 exhibitors, with cutting edge products in tropical high-efficiency agriculture, deep sea equipment, advanced manufacturing, biomedicine, and other sectors key to the development of the Hainan Free Trade Port.
